I have just acquired my new Model Y! I sometimes see noise and vibration in my steering wheel originating from the front when decelerating and executing left or right turns. As a new Tesla owner, I am uncertain whether other owners have the same issue. Is a service appointment with Tesla necessary? Considers

I had the same problem when I received my Model Y in May 2024. Submitted it for servicing, and they confirmed it is functioning normally. Returning to duty after test driving a Model Y demonstration vehicle with the fan disabled to assess the noise levels. I have not yet had the opportunity to do this.

The predominant and tedious reason for this is that one of the wheels has lost a weight during transit, necessitating re-balancing. It may also be a distorted rotor or defective tire resulting from an unreliable source.

We are seeing the similar problem at my wife's Y. Regrettably, support asserts that it is functioning as designed. A technician advised me to submit a support request immediately before to the warranty's expiration to establish a record of a "repair request," enabling me to reference it in the event of a failure soon thereafter.

If you suspect wheel imbalance, spin the wheels/tires and observe the transmission of vibrations.
