Reset the oil change interval?

I have been unable to locate any information.
The vehicle was acquired new in April and scheduled for its first oil change at 8,000 miles.
I want the first oil change at 4,000 to 5,000 miles.
The dealer completed the task, although it now indicates that I am due for the first scheduled service at 7,900 miles.
I would want to maintain it at a 6k interval currently. Am I able to modify the warning indicators, or is it only a dealer's prerogative?

I have discovered that the maintenance intervals in the Kia app cannot be altered. I do oil changes every 5,000 miles, although the app indicates that another change is unnecessary until 10,000 miles, since each time I have completed one, the KIA app records it without considering the distance. The aforementioned video is effective for resetting the interval in the vehicle.

I really hope that the dealers and the KIA app can synchronise and accurately document our services; nevertheless, I have significant doubts over their capability to do this.
 
The Kia app indicates that all maintenance is scheduled for completion three intervals ahead. The car indicates that servicing is required when it is not.
This may get vexatious.
